The former video games developer made his directorial debut with Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas.
A graduate of the School of Cinema and Television at the University of Southern California, Gilmore worked for ABC and MGM before Disney.
A specialist in interactive products, he worked on more than 25 games and, together with Virgin Interactive, produced the Sega Genesis Aladdin video game.
In 1996, he moved to DreamWorks Interactive, where he worked on The Lost World video game and the Medal of Honour, based on a Steven Spielberg concept.
