This derivative crime drama suffers in comparison to its many inspirations, which include Wall Street, Carlito's Way and Goodfellas, to name a few. Still, there's enough gritty action to see crime movie fans through, as drug dealer John Leguizamo befriends city whizkid Peter Sarsgaard and finds that the 'legit' side of life is no less dangerous. Denise Richards co-stars as Sarsgaard's seductive girlfriend and Isabella Rossellini looks pretty unconvincing as a crime boss.
