As synthetic warbler Cher so winningly put it: "If I could turn back time...".
Which is just what Jenna (Garner) wants to do when she time travels into the future to discover she's not the sort of person she wants to be.
As a 13-year-old Jenna. she's a kindly, fresh-faced schoolkid with a good buddy next door in the form of lank-haired Matt.
However, this isn't enough and she prays for the day when she's 30 - a wish that comes true thanks to a sprinkling of wishing dust.
Big mistake. As an adult she's a scheming bitch, collecting and discarding lovers, while brutally calling the shots in the fashion house she lords it over.
Tom Hanks went for the child-in-an-adult's body routine in Big and it's recently been dusted down for the excellent comedy Freaky Friday.
The good news is that this doesn't disappoint with Garner performing a neat comedy turn with the always watchable Mark Ruffalo as Matt - the love she could have had but lost.
Garner - the perfect actress if you can't afford Julia Roberts - hits the just the right balance of youthful enthusiasm trapped in a power-dressing executive's body.
Particularly mirth-inducing is a recreation of Michael Jackson's Thriller video featuring a dance-floor full of NYC fashion victims.
It's not particularly black, wicked or cutting edge but it is a well-made, competently played comedy.
Sit back, crack open the Tesco's Cava, dish out the kettle crisps and enjoy.
