American TV's Saturday Night Live stalwart Fallon landed his first big screen lead role alongside Queen Latifah in the comedy Taxi.
After launching a stand-up routine featuring impressions, he joined the regular acast of Saturday Night Live in 1998.
He made his big screen debut in Cameron Crowe's music drama Almost Famous and went on to feature in the Steven Spielberg mini series Band of Brothers.
In 2003, he had a minor role in Woody Allen's Anything Else and the same year had his live comedy album The Bathroom Wall nominated for a Grammy Award.
He went on to appear in the low-budget comedy The Entrepreneurs and as hapless cop Andy Washburn in Taxi.
Upcoming projects included the American remake of the Nick Hornby-scripted British movie Fever Pitch.
