Unless you love ice hockey this true story about an unconventional coach who adopts new methods to get the US Olympic team up to scratch to challenge the might of the all-conquering Soviet Union players and go on to win gold at the 1980 Winter Olympics will leave you as cold as the ice rink they play on. Kurt Russell sports a truly terrible haircut as coach Herb Brooks but he does the part justice and Noah Emmerich is a competent co-star. However, though well made, this is over-long and too dull in places to appeal to those who aren't fans of the sport.
