This is one of the best sci-fi films ever! This is simply a point of fact. Joss Whedon's film has the perfect balance of comedy, drama, romance and horror. I would recommend this film to anybody and everybody and if you like what you see make sure you check out the series that came before and inspired tens of thousands of fans worldwide. This really is a great film and anyone who calls them self a movie fan NEEDS to watch this film! You won't regret it!

An excellent film, with a cracking script. Worth watching even if you're not in to sci-fi films.

Yes! A brilliant movie, enjoyable on many levels, I would have liked more of the other crew members...but a movie is a different animal and the narrative has to be driven in a different way.

Excellent, and far...oh so far...superior to the three new Star Wars films. Excellent script, knowing direction...but the conspiracy theorist in me wonders why the last 30 minutes of the movie were broadcast in sound only (I checked with some mates watching at the same time to be sure)..the picture pixillated, froze and crashed...Fox cancelled the series and then 'mysteriously' the movie broadcast was 'sabotaged' and what happened to the usual intro by the plump guy (who he anyway?)...very odd.

There are so few decent sci-fi films around that don't rely on special effects to wow the audience that this gem of a film stands out from the crowd. It is fast and furious with a very pretty cast and a liberal scattering of humour. Set in a future where everyone is not rich and therefore can't afford laser-guns and shiny posessions Joss Whedon's vision takes you on a wild-west ride in a traditional good vs evil vs very evil story with plenty of twists and turns, fights and frolics - enjoy!

Brilliant, a good follow up to the Firefly series. My only critisism is that unfortunatly in order to work better as a film Serenity centers more on Mal and River rather than following the whole crew like the show.

Top stuff. I've seen the series more than once, got the DVD's and now this. Great movie for newbies and 'Browncoats' alike. Great characters, story, fantastic sound and effects. Go and see it, you'll love it.

Buffy meets Star Trek - fast moving, funny, clever and entertaining. Gets a bit tedious towards the end, but well worth it. A film to view more than once!

The big screen follow-up to Joss Whedon's acclaimed Firefly gets almost everything right. It works well as a continuation of the series and as a jumping on point for new viewers. Breathtaking action, beautifully rendered characters and Whedon's trademark wit and warmth pervade the picture, making it a joy for old and new fans alike. Serenity is sci-fi as it should be: ordinary people in extraordinary situations. It's not about spaceships, it's about the hearts and minds of these characters.

"You can't stop the signal!" And quite frankly why would you want to because this film is unmissable. Serenity really has something for everyone. Involving characters, jaw dropping action and great writing make this a truly awe-inspiring vision of the future. You will not be disappointed!

Amazing, funny, action-packed and pure greatness! I totally loved it and think it deserves high praise all round. The fact that the creators, crew, cast and fans have gone through so much just to get here it proves how much real love and effort can get you far. This is a great movie for Firefly fans and non-fans (although they will be fans as soon as the movie starts). MORE please

What a great film! The pacing the whole way through means that you are left with no dull moments. The great action sequences are balanced out by hilariously comedy that literally had the cinema laughing out loud. For characters to care about and a film to get truly involved with, see serenity, it is an unrelenting rollercoaster of a film!

Quite frankly, this is the movie Episode III should have been. It has humour, action and drama in spades. Don't worry if you never caught Firefly - this stands aloft in its own right. I really hope this gets the mainstream attention it justly deserves, because as Joss Whedon's directorial debut, it is a very impressive achievement.

This film is really well made . Joss Whedon has you laughing out loud one minute and on the edge of your seat the next. The special effects are brilliant ecspecially when you realise how small the budget was. The characters are very human for a sci fi movie and have faults that are recognisable in today's world. The sci fi/western genre do go together very well and gives a very believable edge to the story. This is Star Wars quality effects but with wise cracking funny dialogue and great action.

Finally, a sci-fi film which doesn't disappoint! Buffy creator Joss Whedon's big screen version of his swiftly cancelled TV space series, Firefly, is a surprising delight. Far hipper and more humorous than the recent Star Wars and Star Trek movies, this is out of this world entertainment.
