Hugh Grant has agreed to make a cameo appearance in the third instalment of the American gross-out comedy series, American Pie.

The quintessential Englishman is taking part in the film, which promises to be ruder, cruder and more hila

rious than the first two, which were huge box office successes.

Grant met producers Chris and Paul Weitz on the set of his last film, About A Boy, and they approached him with the offer.

He has starred in a handful of comedies in the past, including Four Wedding and a Funeral, and Notting Hill, but the toilet gags and comedy moments of an extreme sexual nature are something the actor hasn't yet touched in his professional life.
