Sandro Monetti On Daredevil

Sky's man in Hollywood, Sandro Monetti, joined the stars at Sunday's world premiere of Daredevil.

Although the idea of a blind superhero stumbling around in a red leather outfit, beating up bad guys, sounds really daft, it all somehow works as a movie.

That's largely thanks to the performances - Ben Affleck proves the perfect leading man for this kind of material; Alias beauty Jennifer Garner impresses by bringing her ass-kicking abilities to the big screen; and Colin Farrell is a laugh riot as an over-the-top but still extremely formidable foe.

It's more dark, downbeat and violent than most superhero movies - and, while that means it probably won't have the same box office impact as Spider-Man, the bleak tone makes for a refreshing change.

Affleck's character is a blind lawyer who secretly administers his own form of street justice at night, thanks to his heightened remaining senses.

The project could have been a complete disaster - so every credit to director Mark Steven Johnson for delivering a superhero film that really satisfies.
