Lawrence made his directorial debut with Two Weeks Notice starring Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock.

The movie was this third collaboration with Bullock - he also co-wrote the box office hit Miss Congeniality and penned Forces of Nature, which co-starred Ben Affleck.

A Brooklyn native who dropped out of NYU law school, Lawrence began his career as writer for TV and received awards for his work on Family Ties.

He also wrote the feature film Life With Mikey, which starred Michael J Fox, and The Out-of-Towners with Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin.
