Steven Bauer

Cuban-born actor Bauer is famous for Hispanic roles on TV and on the big screen, and as Melanie Griffth's husband of seven years, with whom he fathered a son.
Bauer's TV career began with Spanish-speaking roles, and his breakthrough came on Que Pasa USA?, which led to years of similar TV roles.
It was 1980 before he was cast in a regular role, when he played Private Carmona on From Here to Eternity, and soon Broadway called.
Three years later Bauer broke into film, with a role in Brian De Palma's classic thriller Scarface, and the following year he was cast in his first leading role in Thief of Hearts.
More recently Bauer portrayed businessman Carl Ayala, Catherine Zeta Jones's husband, in Traffic.
