A light and agreeable train romp which starts really well, but ultimately fails as a film because, for all the energy with which director Richard Lester invests it, it simply isn't funny. Most of the unnecessary four-letter words in the script of this frenzied froth go to Beverly D'Angelo, so it's much to her credit that she's still the best thing in a film which defies the efforts of such experienced players as David Wayne, Ed Lauter, Brian Dennehy, Pamela Stephenson and Louis Gossett to get a laugh. Harmless enough, but totally lacking in comic distinction - even though comedy superstar Jim Carrey has a key minor role!
