A `rock'n'roll fable', says the credits, and that's what Walter Hill's film is - its action is there merely to entertain and not convince. And entertain it does, in this kind of spaghetti street film with Diane Lane as the singer kidnapped by bikers, Michael Paré as the ex-lover/ex-soldier called in to get her back, and husky-voiced Amy Madigan, given a part that enables her to walk off with the film, as another ex-soldier who becomes Paré's strong right arm. Rick Moranis and Willem Dafoe complete a striking cast.
