Lea Thomson is married to Howard Deutch who has directed such classics as Pretty in Pink, Grumpier Old men and The Odd Couple 2.

Before she married him she was engaged to Dennis Quaid for three years until she met Deutch on the set of Some Kind of Wonderful in 1987.

After graduating from Marshall University high school in Minneapolis she was a ballet dancer until Baryshnikov told her she was too stocky.

As an actress, Lea was first noticed in a series of TV adverts for Burger King.

Her first movie role was alongside Tom Cruise in All The Right Moves but she was really noticed as Michael J. Fox's mother in the Back to the Future trilogy.
