An engaging, if superficial treatment of a fascinating subject - what might happen if a trio of girl pop singers were persuaded to get together again 25 years after their heyday? Sandy Duncan, Jill Eikenberry and Judith Light are on the ball and sometimes touching as the girls, even when Lindsay Harrison's teleplay doesn't live up to its potential, although it does have its moments of shrewd observation. Basically an old-fashioned backstage musical with a (not very) big finish, the film features brief appearances by several pop stars from the days when the fictional group was in its prime. An original idea that's mostly a delight.
