It's perhaps not surprising that this dull aerial survival yarn from George Miller, the director of the Mad Max trilogy and The Witches of Eastwick, failed to reach British cinemas. The script is as flat as a runway and stars Christopher Reeve and Rosanna Arquette fail to overcome distinctly unattractive characters. He's a flyer for a ragbag airmail service in 1928; she's a rich, obnoxious passenger he's forced to take along on his latest trip. They crash-land in the mountains and have to stop fighting long enough to survive. Trouble is that the emotional spark between them never ignites and their scenes come a poor second to a pck of hungry wolves when it comes to creating tension and interest. Tyne Daly, of Cagney & Lacey, plays one of Reeve's friends.
