Ian Richardson

Ian trained for the stage at the College of Dramatic Art in Glasgow. For years he was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and spent much of his career on British TV. One of his most famous roles was as the shrewd Frances Urquhart in the political thriller House Of Cards in 1990.
His film roles vary from low budget obscure art house films to big name features such as From Hell, with Johnny Depp, 102 Dalmatians with Glenn Close and Dark City opposite Rufus Sewell and Kiefer Sutherland.
A keen archaeologist, musician and traveller, Ian has made sire his prolific career has been as varied as he could make it.
Ian's acting was rewarded in 1989 when he was appointed a CBE.
