What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Romeo is Bleeding and Natural Born Killers oppposite Woody Harrelson all saw her stock rising.
Lewis remained uncharacteristically low-key in the years that followed, with roles ranging from the quirky From Dusk Till Dawn to the dramatic The Other Sister in 1996.
In 2000, Lewis appeared in no less than three films, including Way of the Gun and Room to Rent with Benicio Del Toro.
She played opposite Jennifer Lopez in the tepid thriller Enough and had a minor role alongside Dennis Quaid and Sharon Stone in the thriller Cold Creak Manor.
