Third in the Seventies popular franchise makes the whole thing seem long past its sell-by date. Tony Curtis does his estimable comic best to raise the level of the game and raise a few laughs as the hustler trying to exploit the little-leaguers. But this is a film with a heart of tarnished gold-plate. Bad news for the series - this one was close of play.
