Mark Harmon just about holds his own in this rather lightweight comedy, which has him in one of his first starring roles. He's a gym teacher who is blackmailed into teaching a bunch of delinquent under-achievers English at summer school. There he falls for history teacher Kirstie Alley. Although both Harmon and Alley look good, they don't actually generate much chemistry. The students, each with his or her problem, keep things bouncing along but the humour is sometimes a bit strained. Not one of director Carl Reiner's better efforts. Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid and The Man With Two Brains must rank among those.
