Depp's Yank Attack
Johnny's rant about Bush, his 'idiots' and 'dumb' AmericaHollywood's current golden boy, Johnny Depp, has launched a scathing attack on the US, claiming it to be a "dumb" country.
The Pirates Of The Caribbean star was talking to Stern magazine when he made the comments - which will surprise studio bosses known for their right-wing stance.
Depp told the magazine: "Just look at our president - unbelievable.
"In Iraq it was all about business, about money. He is one of the worst liars."
He went on to describe the President's administration as "idiots" and claimed he would not live in the country while Bush was in power.
Depp and wife Vanessa Paradis currently live with their two children in the south of France.
"America is dumb, it's like a dumb puppy that has big teeth that can bite and hurt you, aggressive," he said.
"I was ecstatic they re-named French Fries as Freedom Fries.
"Grown men and women in positions of power in the US government showing themselves as idiots."
Negative comments on the American government do not go down well with Hollywood bosses.
Tim Robbins has already been criticised for his detailed comments on the Bush administration and has had promotions cancelled.
With Depp on top of the charts with his pirate movie and with Once Upon A Time In Mexico on the way, time will tell how much of an effect his comments will have on his career.
