The tension is inbuilt in this cross between 'The Wrong Man' and 'Absence of Malice' as an innocent man, under suspicion in connection with the brutal murder of a young girl, finds the web of circumstance closing in on him, and the media crucifying him. Mike Farrell, a competent actor without a strong personality, is perfectly cast in this pivotal role and there are contributions that stir the emotions from Veronica Cartwright as his wife and Teri Garr as a hard-nosed newsgirl who changes her mind about Farrell's guilt as the case goes on.
