The second Dr Who feature film which, on the whole, is marginally better than the first released a year earlier. For one thing Bernard Cribbins is on hand to supply the comic element. The result is a magnificently dated piece of crude British sci-fi fare which will appeal to children immensely. And it's surely worth adults watching just to hear the classic line: 'We'll have to bypass Watford - the place is full of Daleks'. Peter Cushing reprises his role as the charismatic Time Lord, fitting the part like a glove. He was surely one of the most convincing holders of the sonic screwdriver.

It's his 2nd cinema outing for Peter Cushing as the titular hero, this time aided and abetted by Bernard Cribbins. Again, an adaptation of a BBC television Doctor Who serial, this contains some superb set pieces although some cringeworthy 'comic' moments as well. The Daleks, at this point, had never looked better, appearing in the large screen in all their multi-coloured glory. Some suitably impressive explosions and an easy to follow tale. Bound to win some new fans since the TV revival.
