Another French success, Le Chèvre, gets the Hollywood treatment, and the result is pure disaster. Some guys have all the luck. Eugene Proctor (the manic Martin Short) isn't one of them. When an accident- prone heiress goes missing in Mexico, disaster-magnet Eugene is chosen to find her: the theory being apparently that, as his fatal attraction for mishaps mirrors hers, so he will retrace her steps. Hmm. Sent to search with him is humourless detective Danny Glover, rapidly to realise how lethal a weapon his new partner can be. Slapstick, pure and simple, with Short at his most resistible. A long hour and a half.
