Ruth Sheen
Ruth's first major movie experience was the starring role as Shirley in High Hopes, Mike Leigh's slice of life look at a sweet working class coupe in London.
Her next starring role was alongside Roger Lloyd Pack in The Young Poisoner's Handbook, a film based on a true story about a boy genius and social misfit who tests his lethal chemical concoctions on his friends and family.
In 2002, wooed back to the director who put her in the starring role 14 years previous, Ruth appeared in Mike Leigh's All Or Nothing alongside Timothy Spall and Lesley Manville.
