Gordon-Levitt's professional career began at the age of six when he was spotted singing in a children's choir.
After appearing in a peanut butter commercial, he landed his first dramatic TV role in Stranger On My Land Opposite Tommy Lee Jones.
TV work included Dark Shadows, The Powers That Be and from 1993-1995 he had a recurring role as George on Roseanne before landing a part in 3rd Rock From The Sun.
His movie debut came in 1992 in Robert Redford's A River Runs Through It and also had parts in Holy Matrimony, The Road Killers and Angels in the Outfield.
Work followed in The Juror opposite Demi Moore, Sweet Jane and Halloween H20 and Cameron James in 10 Things I Hate About You.
In 2002, he voiced Jim Hawkins in Disney's Treasure Planet and also starred opposite Don Cheadle in the psychological drama Manic.
Recent work included the acclaimed child abuse drama Mysterious Skin.
