Director Clark has related how he and co-writer Steven Wilde had trouble interesting studios in this script; on seeing the film, that causes no surprise. A second-rate story of four guys (who have been friends since college 10 years ago and now rally round when one has problems), it needs a much stronger screenplay to give it any chance of working. Though their story is brightly shot in Astro Color, these are dull, unattractive characters and their problems don't seem to amount to a hill of beans in terms of entertainment. The best Clark can come up with by way of a climax is the quartet assembling for the birth of the married one's baby. 'Don't worry,' they console him 'we're with you as long as it takes.' 'Congratulations, it's a boy, pronounces the over-bright nurse. Commiserations, fellas, you've only given birth to a turkey.
