Beautiful native girl Gene Tierney helps firm-jawed Englishmen Bruce Cabot and George Sanders rid the North African desert of the Nazi menace in this fast-moving adventure yarn. Director Henry Hathaway generates excitement in the action scenes but otherwise doesn't manage to raise the film from the B-film pot-boiler that it is. Nevertheless, it's all ripping stuff and a rare opportunity to see Tierney at her most luminously beautiful.
