Rather like buses, film fads come along together. This is a further example of the 'small but obnoxious creatures who terrorise smug humans' craze, which was spawned by the success of Gremlins in the mid Eighties. As well as the voracious furballs of the title, who this time set up camp in an apartment block, there's another small but perfectly formed presence, in the shape of a 17-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio. Everyone who's anyone has to have a dire movie in their filmography and this is Leo's. But the producers, not content with three of the blighters, released a fourth film (made at the same time as this) the following year.
