The casebook of the last-minute exponent of legal logic hits a new low by resorting to the tired formula of putting in a Nazi - for 40 years the cartoon embodiment of horror and contempt - as the villain. It's a crude device that fails to divert attention away from the thinness of the plot and not even Hollywood legend Teresa Wright, nor a slew of British guest stars, including Ian McShane, Ian Bannen and Paul Freeman, can inject life into this bloodless corpse.
