This TV film about the first black woman to join the FBI is based on a true story, but a poor script and inept direction make one assume it's a pretty distorted reflection of the truth. The characters are not very well-drawn and the central character isn't a very sympathetic one. Lynn Whitfield is attractive but not really convincing as a level-headed agent and Howard Rollins Jr deserves a better role than the one as her partner. In short, the whole thing doesn't really ring true, a serious fault for a film supposedly based on fact.
