Tate has made name for himself in Hollywood in a remarkably short space of time.
Career highlights include the lead role of Frankie Lymon in the biopic Why Do Fools Fall in Love and opposite Kevin Costner in The Postman.
A graduate of LA's Inner City Cultural Centre, Tate cut his teeth on TV work such as South Central and New Attitudes.
He made his feature debut in Menace II Society followed by a starring role in the Matt Rich comedy The Inkwell.
He again teamed up with the Hughes Brothers after Menace II Society for the acclaimed Dead Presidents.
Other credits include Love Jones, for which he received a Best Actor NAACP Image Ward Nomination and.
