John Randolph, an excellent, unsung Hollywood actor who's been playing deep-thinking old guys all the way from Seconds in 1966 to Prizzi's Honor 20 years later, makes the most of this slim little fable about a grandfather who's not only determined to continue his rest home love affair, but manages to arrange a little romance on the side for his grandson.
