This is an extraordinary film in so much as it takes hideous real-life events and portrays them with taste and compassion. Matthew Lawrence plays David, the happy son of an unhappy marriage, who suffers the horrifying fate his father has in store for him. Restraint is director John Erman's great achievement here - he makes this TV movie a cut above the average survey of an unpalatable real-life case.
