TV hostess Vanna White's TV movie debut didn't exactly lead to a rush for her acting services. A candy-floss romantic fantasy, it thinly disguises Vanna as the goddess Venus looking for an earthly man whose love will avoid her being turned to stone by the rest of the gods. Vanna's acting abilities might make you think the gods had started exacting their revenge a trifle early, but at least she knows how to bluff her way through, even if someone like Whoopi Goldberg might have turned the entire premise on its head. The other characters are strictly made from plaster of Paris, although Little Richard brightens things up with his few frenetic moments as a temperamental hairdresser.
