This comedy thriller about a 27-year-old yuppie who passes himself off as a high school student because some gangsters have put a contract out on him is rather uneven and downright badly edited in parts, but it's all quite fun despite these shortcomings. The reason for this is a vigorous central performance by non-stop Jon Cryer as the overaged schoolboy. All the fish-out-of-water situations into which he's thrown are fairly obvious ones, but they still manage to raise a smile or even a laugh. Screenwriters Joe Menosky and Jeff Rothberg have given their characters some sharp and knowing dialogue which keeps the comedy bubbling.
