Typically overblown performances by Shelley Winters, Ann Sothern and Arthur Kennedy perfectly suit this compelling drama of an unsophisticated Idaho housewife (Miss Winters) who's put through an emotional ringer when attending her daughter's murder trial. The girl is Tisha Sterling, the perky young actress daughter of Ann Sothern in real life.
