Some unexpected names cropped up over the 13 years of the Blondie films: Rita Hayworth, Jerome Cowan, Adele Jergens, Donald Meek, John Qualen. In the cast of this one: the grim features of Marc Lawrence. A malevolent and humourless gangster in a multitude of crime films, his career has spanned more than 50 years. He and sneering Douglas Fowley, another `specialist criminal' actor, bolster this lively entry in the series, although everyone has to play second fiddle here to Daisy the dog.
