Whitewashed but very watchable biography of an American stage star of the Gay Nineties, giving star Alice Faye no fewer than four leading men in Don Ameche, Henry Fonda, Warren William and Edward Arnold, the latter being in especially good form repeating his earlier film characterisation of 'Diamond Jim' Brady. Director Irving Cummings began his career as a stage actor, with a company headed by - Lillian Russell.
