Forceful, lively, raunchy and full of imagination and creative energy, this is one of Film Four International's greatest successes to date on the cinema scene, The backdrop of Liverpool and its clubs is gaudy but vital, just like the two central characters, short-skirted, wisecracking, street-smart dollies unashamedly out for a good time. The girls are searingly well played in quite matter-of-fact fashion by Margi Clarke, later the hostess of ITV's Good Sex Guide, and Alexandra Pigg, neither of whom subsequently got the roles their talents deserved. Viewers should be advised that the film contains a sizeable ration of strong language.
