A moderately exciting drama set in strife-torn Israel in 1947. Sophia Loren looks eye-popping in sweater and short shorts but has little meaty acting to do as a Jewish woman determined to kill her ex-Nazi husband. As a British officer, Jack Hawkins skilfully moulds the most sympathetic character in the film.
