It's the summer of 1968 and John (Robert Forster), a news cameraman for a Chicago TV station, feels the involvement in the tragedies and disasters he photographs every day. He lives in an elegant apartment and enjoys his affair with a sexy nurse (Verna Bloom). He and his sound man, Gus, are much more concerned with the technical quality of their programmes than the actual content. But their detachment begins to crumble when they try to follow up the story of a black cab driver who found 10,000 dollars... and handed it in. This leads the TV men into contact with black militant groups...
