This TV movie has Corbin Bernsen playing a campaigning civil rights lawyer - a million miles removed from his looking-after-number-one city slicker Arnie Becker from the hit series L. A. Law. Look out for an early appearance by Angela Bassett - who went on to be Oscar-nominated as Tina Turner in Tina What's Love Got to Do With It. The direction is in the capable hands of John Korty, who more than 20 years ago won an Emmy Award (TV Oscar) for The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman. Most of Korty's films have worn their social conscience on their sleeves, but this isn't one of his very best.
