Fans of Harvey Keitel's intense performances in Reservoir Dogs and Bad Lieutenant won't want to miss him as a man staggering through the seedier parts of Los Angeles reviewing his misbegotten life through a beer bottle in this short feature from an American Playhouse-backed series from innovative young film-makers. Writer-director Ralph Bakshi, previously known for such graphic animated work as Fritz the Cat and Lord of the Rings, attempts to evoke the spirits of such beat generation figures as writers Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac and painter Jackson Pollack, in this uncompromising adult look at a life in despair.
