Thumbelina

Animated version of the old story of a lonely girl the size of a human thumb who meets a fairy prince who saves her from the creatures of the woods. Trivia: Co-director Don Bluth collaborated with Steven Spielberg to give us An American Tail before going on to make the acclaimed cartoon series Titan AE. Barry "The Nose" Manilow provides the songs.

This song-filled animated version of the Hans Christian Andersen's children's story of a tiny girl found in an opening flower has some pretty songs by Barry Manilow, but is very slow to get going and lacks charm.

Jodi Benson voices Thumbelina, who falls in love with a fairy prince. Not a classic but small children will enjoy it.
