Kate Nelligan and young Tobey Maguire give luminous performances in this decent heart-tugger about a teen who tries to get his divorced parents together again. Nelligan and 15-year-old son Maguire have just come from Colorado to New York, where mum meets her old political activist friends (Rhea Perlman, Matthew Walker) while son tries to find his fashion photographer dad (John Heard). Slow to start, the movie has plenty of humour and crackles into life once Nelligan and Heard meet again.
