A neglected 11-year-old decides to get his own back on his criminal father when he hides the proceeds of Dad's last theft and blackmails him into doing the paternal thing by taking his boy out for a good time. This is a great idea for a comedy, but, thanks to a very weak script, the film is an opportunity lost. Stars Macaulay Culkin and Ted Danson try hard to breathe life into the movie, but it falls flat on its face most of the time. Culkin, at 13, isn't as cute as the kid he was in Home Alone - he's outgrown that but hasn't found a new niche. Danson, in the absence of any help from the script, relies on his tried and tested persona, but it isn't quite enough to paper over the cracks in the film.
