Fair-to-middling entertainment set in the rock 'n' roll era which pitches hip middle class youngsters against Bible Belt adults who want to put a lid on the kids' love of the new wave music. It's a loose remake of a 1956 film of the same name (which featured Fats Domino) and boasts an energetic sound track and a good performance from Jerry Maguire lead Renee Zellweger as a 'nice girl' who becomes hooked on the 'voodoo-influenced' music. This Nineties TV movie version has a guest appearance from Paul Anka.
