Warren Beatty and his real-life wife Annette Bening head a star-studded cast in this largely faithful second remake of a classic film weepie. Beatty (engaged) falls for Bening (also engaged): they make a pact to meet again in three months. But on the day, tragedy strikes. Easy on the eye, the film's peculiarly lacking in passion: only veteran Katharine Hepburn's performance tugs at our emotions.
