You can just imagine Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant sparring wittily in this pleasant, old-fashioned screwball comedy, but here it's Geena Davis and Michael Keaton. They give hugely appealing performances as two political speechwriters on opposing sides (she's a Democrat, he's a Republican) who, unaware of each other's jobs, fall in love. Screenwriter Robert King's script is not as sharp as it could be, but the stars strike just the right sparks, whether in love or at war. The supporting cast includes Bonnie Bedelia as Keaton's ex-wife and Christopher Reeve as Davis' egotistical TV reporter boyfriend.
