A well-meaning, adequately presented children's adventure starring Wil Horneff as the rebellious 14-year-old son of a behavioural scientist (Helen Shaver). Young Wil befriends a female gorilla and helps her escape from her vicious owner, and then sets off on a series of adventures to safeguard her freedom. Even if the writers don't push too hard at the boundaries with their story, this sort of Free Gorilly is still amiable material, and Horneff and Shaver make the most of it.
